Minutes of the July 11th 2007 Board Meeting
The Board of Directors of the
Charlotte Bridge Association met on Wednesday July
11th, 2007 at 4:30pm at

TREASURERS
Report: Don Lassiter gave the Treasurer's report
in Jerry's absence. We are still under budget for all the
improvements at Latta.

Club July 15th- Special Event Jean is the coordinator with the 4 women sponsoring
this game. Posters are up and invitations have been sent out. . Loaves and
Fishes is the charity. There will be a
catered luncheon before the game. Over 100 people have signed up. Janet
has volunteered her services to direct this game and donate her fee to Loaves
and Fishes Charity.

perhaps members could be allowed to park on
All of the improvements came in
under budget, so at this points it looks like we do
not need to use any dollars from the Vanguard account. The budget for Latta expenses was $138,000, at this point we are under
120,000- actual expenses.
More trash cans were purchased.
A new monitor and printer were purchased.There is
discussion about the need for a PA system and perhaps overhead fans for the
side room. .

discussion on name tags, would people wear them, what type should we get.
NLM
tournament will be August 23rd -26th, 2007 Harold and Carol Winecoff
are the Chairs.They will need caddies and volunteers
to bring food. If any members would like to volunteer to caddy that would
be appreciated.

Regional 10-/22-10/28
2007 Len Case Janet said the rooms at the hotel are
filling up quickly.
Harold and Carol are working on
the prizes for the Regional. Mid
Awards
Day was held
on Saturday June 30th, 2007. Jane Smith chaired this event and did a
super job. Jane and Martha Jean worked to have
the wall plaques updated and hung. A hot dog lunch was provided.
Jerry Pontius Day.
was held on July 4th, A nice lunch was served
and many attended to honor Jerry for all he has done to provide the
membership with such a fine playing site. He was presented with a picture of
the building and many of the members signed the picture as a remembrance for
Jerry.
Library
Celia Johnson and Anne Allen will work on the
library. Martha Jean, Jane and Jean will work with them. The Library will
be located in the room behind the break room.

Harold Winecoff sent a letter resigning from
the Board for personal reasons. His resignation was accepted. He and Carol will
still chair the NLM tournament.
Publicity Memphis Headquarters still talking about doing an
article in the Bulletin on our new playing site-- we have sent them some
information and pictures.. Gretchen forwarded Jerry's pictures to
Curtains
for the Teaching Room One of the Winecoff's students volunteered to make curtains for the
Teaching room, We appreciate the offer, but Martha
Jean, responsible for the building changes is not ready to make a decision on
what window cover we require. We think some type of blinds, but she will
investigate that.
Club Manager Study Committee
Forming, nothing to report , too many members on
vacation.
We will schedule a meeting in August.
New
Directory Gretchen is the
Board contact, working with Anne Thompson on the new Directory
Membership
Report Janet gave
the report for our Unit, 2 new members, 4 transfers in and 1 out,. and 5 reinstated. Janet send letters to new members,
welcoming them and inviting them to visit the

The
Internet
Service Michael has
not been able to find a reasonable cost for Internet service for the Club. We
are treated as a business and that comes at a high cost.
